# Maintenance guide

PowerAMS is an operational management tool and does not claim regulatory certification. Maintenance programs, intervals, deferrals, approvals, and return-to-service records must be reviewed against the operator’s approved procedures and jurisdiction.

## Planning and work orders

1. Configure programs and tasks with applicability, calendar/hours/cycles/custom triggers, whichever-first logic, warning threshold, skill, downtime, cost, and mandatory status.
2. Review approaching, due, and overdue requirements daily.
3. Create a work order linked to the requirement/task or defect; record planned dates, engineer/provider, findings, corrective action, labour, parts, and costs.
4. Reserve and issue inventory through immutable transactions. Return unused material and record consumed parts.
5. Complete tasks with actual measurements and attachments.
6. Record required approvals and an approved return-to-service record before making the aircraft available.

## Defects and grounding

Record reporter, flight, category, severity, description, AOG flag, engineer, rectification, deferral, expiry, and closure approval. Critical or AOG defects remain scheduling blockers while open. Mandatory overdue maintenance, missing return-to-service approval, expired insurance, and expired airworthiness also block backend scheduling.

Do not delete or silently rewrite completion, approval, defect action, component movement, or return-to-service history. Use status and controlled correction records with audit evidence.
